Professional Mentorship

  • Professional Mentorship Info Session for Graduate Students: 9/10, 1pm Location TBA – You are not only here for a great education. You also want to have guidance to a great job! If that’s you, come find out how you can be selected to our Professional Mentorship Program. If selected, we will match you with a working professional in NYC. Food/Music

  • Jazz Jam (for Christian International Students) 8/30, 6pm Meet outside Kimmel lobby – Are you a Christian International Student who loves to play or listen to Jazz? Are you looking for a like-minded community to connect your spirituality to your music? Come have pizza and jam, listen, and hang with us! We will have a piano, cajon, guitar, and two guitar amps available. Bring your instrument and jam! Contact Jason with any questions.
  • Free Jazz Concert Meetup at Grant’s Tomb 8/31 7:00pm – Join other international students for a night of outdoor jazz at the historic Grant’s Tomb Memorial in Harlem. We will meet outside Kimmel Lobby on West 4th Street at 6 PM and travel together to the location. Or, you can meet us directly at Grant’s Tomb (West 122nd Street & Riverside Drive) at 7 PM. Look for the purple balloons and the “International Students Inc. (ISI)” sign.  Contact Jason with any questions.
  • International Parent/Family Welcome Event for Graduate Students 8/30, 4pm Meet in Kimmel Lobby- look for red balloons. – Come meet other international parents and families at this park meet up! Join us for activities for kids and learn more about our International Parents Group! Contact Hollie with any questions.
  • MuCh Boba! 9/1, 3:30pm – Muslim-Christian dialogue (MuCh) x Bubble Tea! Come make friends from another faith at Mi Tea (101 MacDougal St.) and learn about the history of Muslim-Christian dialogue at NYU.  Contact Lachlan with any questions.
  • International Student Picnic in Central Park 9/3, 3pmFood, new friends, pro tips from current students! Meet at 3pm in the lobby at Kimmel Center for University Life to travel there together OR if you want to meet there at 4pm: enter at 106th Street & Central Park West – Walk up the stairs to the Great Hill & look for balloons/signs. Please register here so we can get a headcount for food! 
  • Cooking Creations 9/6, 6pm – Let’s learn a dish from another culture! Jump in and help chop and prep, or just enjoy watching the demo. Either way, come ready to learn, laugh and eat. Cook and cuisine TBD, Halal and veg options. Meet at Kimmel Lobby at 5:15 to travel to UWS location. Registration is required (https://forms.gle/KEvLFgyS64H1ngeF8), so we have enough food.
  • Halal Food Walking Tour Date/Time TBD Meet outside Kimmel lobby – Halal or not Halal? (That’s the question). Join us for a neighborhood tour of legit Halal restaurants near Washington Square Park! Free samples will be provided. Get in the know about many great options from a variety of cultures! ISI is a faith-based Protestant organization dedicated to serving international students. This event is in partnership with the Islamic Center of NYU.  Contact Jason with any questions.

Soul Care Sisterhood

  • Cozy Fall Vibes 9/10, 11:00am – Join other international student women for tea or pumpkin lattes, warm scones and cookies, and a fall-themed craft. Soul Care Sisterhood exists to create space for self-care and deeper conversation among international women.

  • Who is Jesus and Why are some Christians so nice? 8/29, 11:00am – Join other international students to experience the love of Jesus and make good friends. Christians and non-Christians welcome!
  • Who is Jesus and Why are some Christians so nice? 8/31, 1:00pm – Ever wondered this? Bring your curiosity and discover with other international students what the Bible says about this world-changer. 
  • Who is Jesus and Why are some Christians so nice? 9/7, 3:00pm – Not all Christians are nice but most of them are. Want to know why and meet good friends at the same time?  
  • International Christian Community & Discipleship 8/30, 11:00am – Do you identify as Christian and want to meet other Christians from around the world? Do you have a love for the nations and want to be part of a likeminded group? Are you concerned about your own relationship with God? We would like to walk with you and bless you.

  • Worship Jam Session 8/29, 6pm Meet in Kimmel Lobby – Look for “ICF” sign – Do you love Christian music? Do you play an instrument? Your voice and slapping your hand on your lap qualifies. Then let’s jam! We have some instruments or bring your own. Teach us your favorite song and come learn new songs!  
  • Spiritual Stories, Board Games & Dinner 9/1, 6:30pm Meet in Kimmel Lobby – Look for “ICF” sign – Come hear faith journeys of Christian international students from around the world! You can share your own too. Even better, over dinner and dessert. Feed your stomach and soul! Students of all faiths and nonfaiths welcomed!
