Professional Workshop Series

  • Resume Foundations 101 (part 1) – 2/6/21, 11:00am (EST) – What qualities make a good resume? Learn how to create a powerful resume that unlocks doors to opportunities! You will also be put into a group where you can ask a coach specific resume building questions. 
  • Resume Foundations 101 (part 2) – 2/13/21, 11:00am (EST) – Ever wonder how your resume will be perceived by industry professionals? BRING YOUR RESUME and a coach will review it with you! ISI is a faith-based Protestant organization dedicated to serving international students.

Game Nights

  • Improv Games – 1/30/21, 9:00am (EST) – Need to unwind or laugh a little? Want to grow in your online speaking skills and comfort level? Improv is both fun and helpful for overcoming social anxiety. Give it a try in a fun, friendly and relaxing environment.

  • Speed Friending for International Graduate Students – 1/26/21, 7:30pm (EST) – Join us to make new friends in a speed dating format, but without the awkwardness! 🙂 Chat with Americans and enjoy fun conversation on a variety of topics. 
  • Student Stories from Around the World – 1/27/21, 8:00pm (EST) – Join other international students for sharing stories and talking about the big questions in life. Open to students from all faith backgrounds. 
  • International Christian Fellowship Hangout – 2/3/21, 7:00pm (EST) – Join students from international Christian fellowship for a relaxed hangout together to have some fun and get to know one another a bit better. Expect some good laughs! Christians and non-Christians welcome.

Other Activities: Photography/Cooking/Shopping/SuperBowl

  • Grocery Shopping (in person) – 1/26/21, 3:00pm (EST) – Shopping tour around Astor Place! Get your necessaries at Asian markets! We will be walking outside, distanced, with masks! Please dress warm!
  • Cooking from other cultures! (virtual) – 1/27/21, 6:00pm (EST) – Learn how to make a meal from Egypt, demonstrated by an NYU student. We’ll all learn, laugh and eat together. Sign up early to receive list of ingredients. 
  • Story-telling Through Photography – 2/6/21, 9:00am (EST) – Photography is about discovery, storytelling and fun! Three sessions (two virtual and one in person, if possible) of small gatherings of those interested in photography. While designed for beginners, more advanced photographers can join in the fun and share their experiences with our community. All you need is a smart phone or camera and a desire to explore the world (and possibly out of the world) through your lens. View photography flier here!
  • Big Game Party. SUPERBOWL 2021 (virtual OR in person) – 2/7/21, 6:00pm (EST) – Professional football SUPERBOWL viewing party with New Yorkers! 


English Conversation Opportunities

  • English Cafe – A fast moving, fun way to practice your English with games and engaging conversation with new friends. Open to all NYU international students! All meetings will be on Zoom on Fridays at 12pm EST starting January 29th.

International Christian Fellowship

Join international students meeting together to learn more about who God is through the teachings of the Bible and grow in genuine community and friendship. We will share life stories, what we are grateful for and struggles, listen to worship music from various cultures, study a passage from the Bible, and pray together. Christians and non-Christians welcome! Meetings will be on Zoom on Fridays at 4pm EST starting January 29th.
